About the Hospital
Peking University Cancer Hospital (Beijing Cancer Hospital), founded in 1976 as China's first university-affiliated dedicated cancer hospital, has grown into one of China's four leading oncology centers and consistently ranks among the top in the National Rankings for oncology.
The hospital operates 35 clinical departments and 10 research laboratories, sees approximately 750,000 outpatient visits and 96,000 inpatient admissions annually, and performs around 17,000 surgeries per year. It holds national key clinical specialties in oncology and pathology, and is home to the Ministry of Education's Key Laboratory of Carcinogenesis and Translational Research, making it a national leader in gastric, colorectal, lung, and esophageal cancer.
The hospital has established long-term research partnerships with the U.S. National Cancer Institute, the Technical University of Munich, Cardiff University, and the University of Heidelberg, and leads the formulation of China's national clinical guidelines for gastric, colorectal, lung, and renal cancers.

Featured Technology & Equipment
Total-Body PET/CT (2-meter Full Axial FOV)

Total-Body PET/CT (2-meter Full Axial FOV)
The hospital's Total-Body PET/CT with 2-meter axial coverage scans the entire body simultaneously, achieving 30–40× higher sensitivity than conventional PET/CT. It detects micrometastases, tracks drug pharmacokinetics in real time, and enables ultra-low-dose imaging for cancer spread assessment — described by the department as the 'Hubble Telescope of the human body.'
PET/MRI (United Imaging uPMR 790)

PET/MRI (United Imaging uPMR 790)
Simultaneous 3.0T MRI and digital TOF PET acquisition in a single session, providing both metabolic and anatomical detail without CT radiation. Particularly valuable for soft-tissue tumors, rectal cancer, liver metastases, and post-treatment response assessment where MRI tissue contrast surpasses CT — and for patients who need repeated staging without cumulative radiation exposure.
Varian EDGE Radiosurgery System

Varian EDGE Radiosurgery System
High-precision stereotactic radiosurgery and SBRT platform capable of sub-millimeter accuracy for small lung nodules, liver tumors, spinal metastases, and oligometastatic disease. Used alongside TrueBeam and VitalBeam LINACs to provide the full spectrum from IMRT to hypofractionated ablative radiotherapy for every cancer type.
