Dr. Fang Zhiwei is Chief Physician in Bone & Soft Tissue Tumor Surgery at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Beijing. Fang serves as Founding Director, Department of Bone & Soft Tissue Tumor Surgery. Clinical expertise includes Primary bone tumors (osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma), Soft tissue sarcoma, Bone metastasis and pathologic fractures, Melanoma of the extremities. First physician in China to perform non-devitalized ethanol inactivation autograft reimplantation for bone tumors — a limb-salvage technique avoiding the cost and failure modes of metal prostheses, now widely adopted across the country. Visiting Scholar, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA — bone tumor surgery fellowship. Peking University Outstanding Teaching Award (1990); 863 Program PI — national high-tech bone tumor research.
