Professional Biography

Dr. Zhang Xiaotian is Professor & Chief Physician in Gastrointestinal Oncology at Peking University Cancer Hospital, Beijing. Zhang serves as Vice President (副院长). Clinical expertise includes Gastric cancer (advanced stage — immunotherapy, HER2-targeted therapy, AFP-producing subtype), Gastroesophageal junction cancer, Colorectal cancer (metastatic — CAR-T investigational therapies), AFP-producing gastric cancer (specialized combined immunotherapy-angiogenesis protocol). Corresponding investigator of the CAP-06 phase II trial — as corresponding/PI author, led the first multicenter Chinese study defining camrelizumab + apatinib + SOX as an evidence-based treatment for AFP-producing gastric cancer (a rare aggressive subtype with poor immunotherapy response); achieved 66.7% objective response rate (Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, 2025, PMID: 40082418). 'National Outstanding Physician' (全国优秀医师), 2024 — national honor from the Chinese Medical Doctor Association recognizing clinical excellence.
