Dr. Wang Laishuan is Chief Physician in Neonatology at Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai. Wang serves as Vice Director, Neonatal Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Children's Hospital of Fudan University. Clinical expertise includes Comprehensive care of very-low-birth-weight (VLBW) and extremely-low-birth-weight (ELBW) infants, Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) — therapeutic hypothermia protocol, Perinatal brain injury prevention and neuroprotection, Preterm infant outcomes and chronic lung disease of prematurity. Led development and nationwide promotion of therapeutic hypothermia for neonatal HIE — won the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Class (2013) for 'new technology creation, application, and promotion of hypothermia therapy for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy'. Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship, University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada (2006–2007). UBC (Vancouver) fellowship + CHOP visiting scholar — dual North American neonatology training combining Canadian and US-standard NICU expertise, integrated into China's leading children's hospital.
