Dr. Geng Hongquan is Chief Physician in Pediatric Urology at Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai. Clinical expertise includes Pediatric urological disorders and complex urinary tract malformations, Hypospadias (pediatric reconstructive urology), Urinary tract stones in children, Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) — rare genetic kidney disease. Pioneering clinical translation of in vivo base editing and LNP-mediated gene therapy for primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) in children — a potentially curative approach for a rare genetic disease that previously required liver transplantation. Corresponding author on three high-impact gene therapy publications (2023–2025) on correcting primary hyperoxaluria — internationally recognized pediatric gene therapy research.
