Professional Biography

Dr. Zhi Xiuyi is Chief Expert, Thoracic Surgery at Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing. Zhi serves as Chief Expert, Thoracic Surgery, Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University (since June 2018; previously Director of Thoracic Surgery from Oct 2002). Clinical expertise includes Lung cancer (early detection and minimally invasive surgery), Pulmonary nodule diagnosis, CT-guided radiofrequency ablation for lung cancer, Thoracic tumors. Founding and leading the Chinese Thoracic Lung Cancer Alliance — establishing a national collaborative network for lung cancer diagnosis and surgery standards across China. Visiting Scholar, Department of Thoracic Surgery, University of Miami Cancer Center, USA (2002) — clinical research training in thoracic oncology; no master's or doctoral degree; advanced training achieved through clinical mentorship and this overseas fellowship. Recipient of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Prize (国家科技进步奖二等奖, 2019) — one of China's highest national science honors.
