Dr. Zhang Hongwei is Chief Physician in Breast Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai. Clinical expertise includes Breast cancer surgery — breast-conserving surgery, modified radical mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, Sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary lymph node management, Oncoplastic breast reconstruction, Neoadjuvant and adjuvant systemic therapy integration in breast cancer. Established Zhongshan Hospital's research program on tumor microenvironment biomarkers in breast cancer surgery — as corresponding/senior author demonstrated that both neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) independently predict outcomes after curative resection and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (Medicine 2018, PMID: 30170382; BMC Cancer 2021, PMID: 33446143).
