Dr. Xie Dong is Chief Physician & Professor, Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Tongji University, Shanghai. Xie serves as Administrative Vice Director (行政副主任), Department of Thoracic Surgery. Clinical expertise includes Lung cancer (single-port VATS), Pulmonary nodules, Mediastinal tumors, Complex thoracic procedures via single-port (sleeve lobectomy, carinal reconstruction). Designed and patented the 'Surgery Bouquet' (手术花束) — a coordinated multi-instrument set specifically engineered for single-port VATS; adopted by surgeons internationally as a key enabling technology for uniportal thoracoscopic surgery. 1,500+ operations/year; H-index 32; 3,300+ Google Scholar citations; 80+ SCI papers (including Nature Communications, JTO, EJCTS); 150+ total publications; PI on 10+ funded projects including NSFC grants; personal research funding >4M RMB.
