Dr. Liu Shen is Professor & Doctoral Supervisor (SJTU School of Medicine) in Orthopedics — Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, Shanghai. Liu serves as Deputy Administrative Director, Orthopedics, National Orthopedic Medical Center – Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital. Clinical expertise includes Severed digit and limb replantation, Digit and limb reconstruction after amputation, Complex soft-tissue and composite-tissue defects (microsurgical repair), Peripheral nerve injuries of the hand. Leads the hospital's Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery service — the birthplace of limb replantation in China and among the world's largest replantation centers (roughly 2,700 replantations a year with over 97% survival). Recipient of the NSFC Outstanding Youth Science Fund.
