Professional Biography

Dr. Ge Junbo is Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Director of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai. Ge specializes in Interventional cardiology for coronary artery disease, especially complex coronary intervention, chronic total occlusion, intravascular ultrasound-guided diagnosis and therapy, myocardial bridging, and coronary device innovation. Ge has performed over 112 procedures throughout a distinguished career. Ge completed international training in Cardiology advanced study and doctoral training at University of Mainz Faculty of Medicine, Germany. Ge serves as Director, Department of Cardiology. Identified the intravascular ultrasound 'half-moon sign' in myocardial bridging, materially improving recognition and management of this lesion.
